While the sun is up, bronzed beaches line the many shades of blue of the waters at Ponta Malongane, Mozambique. It’s no wonder this place is lauded as a great place to go snorkeling and scuba diving. The place we’re staying at has a dive center for those who want to venture into the deep blue in search of the many treasures that lie below.
Even the accommodation venue seems dream-like as the rays of sun filter down through the trees. Camping has never been less of an effort.
To have an idea of what it’s like when the Sun is down, shut your eyes. Close them as tight as you can; until you start to see little specks of white static. Then imagine those specks of static as an infinite sprinkling of sparkling lights in the Heavens above, while rolling waves, with the occasional flash of light from bio-luminescent algae, gently caress the soft sand that cushions your feet and you’ll have something similar to what I was fortunate enough to experience in Ponta Malongane in Mozambique on the first night I’d ever been there.
Three friends, just chilling at beach, all on our own with only the moonrise to watch over us. I won’t be forgetting that any time soon.
The second night was just as beautiful, and with the addition of some musically inclined friends, we were fortunate enough to witness another mouth-opening sight with an appropriate acoustic soundtrack to take us into the night.
Two days of peace and serenity before the craziness of STRAB. Exactly what’s needed both before and after to help you recover from the amount of fun and partying you’re going to be doing during the festival!
I can’t wait to get back here for my 3rd round of STRAB
STRAB 2016 happens from the 26-29th of May in Ponta Malongane, Mozambique.
