Let me introduce you to my friend Kirsty: Model, funny, extremely smart, loves Patrón and is affectionately known by her groupies as the Patrón Princess.
[two_column] Earlier this year, both Kirsty and I had taken steps in new directions hoping to find that elusive balance between doing something and being passionate about it. This shoot was the start of something new for the both of us and what a start it was!
Thanks to the very helpful and generous Augusto Palacious Jr, we had access to an awesome location in the form of Latinova and a special thanks also to the very talented Maria de Vos for all her skill with the makeup and brushes.[/two_column][two_column_last]The lighting setup was pretty simple. A single speedlight shot through an umbrella triggered via pocket wizards, and use whatever ambient lighting was available… [blockquote client_name=” JL”] The lighting setup was pretty simple[/blockquote]This meant slowing the shutter a little to let in the ambient. The speedlight placed in different positions allowed either for lighting the model or giving the location a bit of ambient lighting that wasn’t necessarily there. Huge windows and lighting at the club allowed for some really interesting effects. It’s amazing what having control of only one light source can do for your creativity![/two_column_last]
